US20 - SHIRRED SKIRT
US20 - SHIRRED SKIRT
Size 10-12. (US 6-8)
The 10 row deep shirred waist is a great way to pull any tummy in. The length is around 36" or 92cms from the waist down. If you are 5ft 7" or around 170 cms tall, the hemline will skim around your ankle.
There's plenty of room in the skirt itself, not as full as Marilyn Monroe wore in The Seven Year Itch but plenty of movement space available.
You'll receive this skirt. No two skirts are the same. Since each one is lovingly hand made from an up-cycled silk blend sari, you may find tiny imperfections in the fabric. Occasionally an artisan may place a sequin or other small replica jewels over an imperfection.

International Sizing
Australia, NZ and UK sizes are exactly the same. US sizing is 4 sizes less than those countries. Please make sure you order the correct size. Here's a handy chart to check your own measurements against. Please also note most items on our site have their own measurements listed. If you measure 110 cms around the chest for example you will need a top bigger than 110 cms or it will be skin tight.
Skirt sizing
Many women are ‘in between’ sizes and ask the question, “which size should I get?” The answer really is, “it depends.” Since all our skirts are adjustable through a size range, we've kept it simple.
If you are a UK/NZ size 16, stick with the 10-16 range since there will be plenty of fabric to still give you coverage with the wrap aspect. We don’t want you flashing!
If you are a ‘large 16’, particularly around the waist, then go for the 18-22 range to safeguard against the dreaded flashing. You won’t find it too big, though there is more fabric in the skirt which is great for the cooler months particularly.
If you are a 16-18, again go with the larger size of the two collections.
Waistbands can be easily adjusted by the addition of another ‘button hole’ to thread the tie through if needed.
With the length, it depends on how tall you are as to where the skirt hem will fall to. A midi length on one woman might be full length on another. The length measurements are listed on each product so check which is best for you by measuring a skirt from your wardrobe.
Blouse and top sizing
Tunics and blouses are true to size. Purchase your usual size.
You will find the tanks are a slim fit so you may wish to move up a size if you want looser. If you are a busty size 16, go with the 18-20. You won't gape. The actual measurements are noted in each garment description. Grab your tape measure if you are unsure which size to purchase.
Batwing tops are very generous across the chest. As they sit on the waist at the front, again stick to your normal size. If you cross the size range, go bigger so the waist fits you still.
Kimono sizing
Many people wear the kimonos as a loose-fitting jacket over a simple top and pants / leggings / jeans as well as over nightwear or on the beach as a cover-up. Depending on if you intend to actually wrap and close the front or not, what size they fit. There are three sizes: UK/NZ 10-18 and 18-24 and 24-28 ish. If you are a size 18, you get to choose from both collections depending on how you want to wear it. Lucky you!
Aladdin and palazzo pants sizing
Don't be put off by how small the waist looks - it stretches out nicely. The deep shirred elastic will hold you firm around your tum for a flattering look. They are incredibly comfortable. Stick to your normal size but again if you cross a size range, go bigger. If you don't want a snug waist, go bigger.
I hope that helps! Remember, you are always welcome to swap your purchase for a different size or get a full refund as long as you do so within 30 days. Sale and discontinued items are excluded.

Fabrics Used
Fabrics Used
Traditionally Saris are often flamboyant and brightly coloured, frequently embroidered, and made from silk, cotton, or, in recent years, synthetic cloth such as viscose and polyester. We use retro Sari cloth in the majority of our skirts so silk is the most common component. It is not uncommon to find chiffon or georgette added into the mix which is why we refer to the skirts as a silk blend. We also use 'end of roll' sari fabrics.
Since we cannot trace back the origin of each Sari we upcycle and each skirt is unique (preventing batch testing), it’s impossible to say for sure what the actual fabric content is.

I have purchased some lovely wrap skirts from Amy and Ella so I am a huge fan. Unfortunately this shirred skirt is much lighter than it appeared in the photos and see-through. It will need something underneath. Some of the others were noted as shear on the website but not this one otherwise I wouldn’t have purchased it. Never mind. I’ll try and find a slip that feels comfortable underneath. Just be cautious with the lighter colours.
I bought this for my daughters birthday- love the brilliant colours and the drape of the fabric
US13 - SHIRRED SKIRT
Very pleased to find my shirred waist skirt goes beautifully with my reversible jacket!
I really like this new style. It's a change from the wrap around skirts I've already bought many of. Happy to add shirred skirts to my collection.
